Leroy Holding celebrates 50 years!
July marks Leroy Holding's 50th year in business and we could not be more proud! We celebrated this past weekend with a cruise aboard the Adirondac on beautiful Lake George. The cruise was a nod to our founder, Bill Brown, who hosted a number of company parties with a cruise.
Our history: Leroy Holding Company was founded by William H. Brown in 1967. He had previously started the Albany branch for Ryder and chose to leave with his right hand woman, Ven, to start a privately owned truck leasing company. As they say, the rest is history.
Leroy Holding Company quickly grew from one location with a handfull of mechanics and office staff based out of Albany, NY to five locations in the first 25 years. Binghamton, Glens Falls, Latham and Saratoga Springs locations were opened to accomdate the influx of customers, most of which we still service today (such as Stewart's Ice Cream and Times Union). Leroy Holding joined Amtralease (now Nationalease) in 1984 which gave our family-owned business a competitive advantage over other truck leasing companies.
Today, at 50 years in business, Leroy Holding Truck Lease & Service is owned and run by the Carson family (Bill Brown's grandson). We have grown to 9 locations: seven in New York and two in Kentucky. Leroy Holding is proud to have almost 100 employees, many who have been with the company for decades and all of which are considered a part of the family. We are proud to annouce that our company is further expanding within the year with a state-of-the-art body shop at our Amsterdam location and with our Mobile Wrench Fleet (TM) which service our customers at their location! We anticipate a lot of growth in the near future and cannot wait to see what the next 50 years bring.
